The 18th Annual Shamrock Run and Walk is the official race of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The race is fun, full of tradition and one of the first big races to start the Spring.  The four mile run & walk course starts on Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis and goes to Fountain Square, which is the home of the “Irish Hill.” The race is one of Indy’s oldest Irish traditions that used to be home to the Indianapolis Athletic Club before the building closed in 2004. The historic race moved to a weekend and now starts and finishes at the downtown Columbia Club. Following the race there is a celebration inside the Club. Other highlights: the race uses the latest timing equipment, every participant will receive a long-sleeve St. Pat’s race t-shirt, overall awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in the competitive run & walk, best Irish race costume contest, door prizes, scenic downtown course, social/networking, free product at race rest and recovery area.
